Marriage Certificate

A marriage certificate is an official document that verifies a legally acknowledged marriage between two people. It normally includes the names of the couples, the date and location of the marriage, witness signatures, and the issuing authority's official seal or stamp. In Nepal, marriage certificates are issued by the local government authorities, such as the District Administration Office or the Village Development Committee, depending on the administrative division in which the marriage took place. A marriage certificate may be required as part of the visa application process for Nepalese students seeking to study in the United Kingdom (UK), particularly if the student is bringing a spouse or dependents with them. The UK government normally demands proof of marital status to ensure that the applicant is legally married and that any accompanying family members qualify for visas or other immigration benefits. If the marriage certificate is not in English, a certified translation may be required.
